COFFEE-ORANGE FUDGE CAKE
1 package 2-layer
sized devil's food or Cerman chocolate cake mix
1 8-oz carton dairy
sour cream
1/2 cup cooking oil
1/2 cup water
4 eggs
1 4-serving size
package instant chocolate fudge pudding mix
1/4 cup coffee liqueur
2 tablespoons lightly
shredded orange peel (one orange grated)
1 teaspoon ground
cinnamon
1 12-oz package
semisweet chocolate pieces
powdered sugar
Grease and flour a
10-inch fluted tube pan. In large mixer bowl combine cake mix, sour cream, oil,
water, eggs, pudding mix, liqueur, orange peel and cinnamon. Beat with an
electric mixer on low speed until blended, scaping sides of bowl constantly.
Beat on
medium speed for 4
minutes. Stir in chocolate pieces. Pour into prepared pan. Bake in a 350 F oven
for 50 to 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the cneter comes out
clean. Cool on wire rack for 10 minutes. Remove from pan and cool on rack.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar, if desired.
(i found that the
plain looks didn't entice people to eat it at pot lucks, and have used a
chocolate glaze, similar to that on eclairs
