CHESS SQUARES (Sandy Cornell)

1 box yellow Buttered Cake Mix (Duncan Hines or Betty C.)

1 egg

1 stick butter

Melt butter; add egg and cake mix. Pat mixture into well greased and well floured 9x 13 cake pan. This mixture is stiff . (This is your crust)

Topping: 1 box powdered sugar

3 eggs

8-oz pkg cream cheese at room temp.

mix this together and pour over above mixture

add nuts and coconut if desired

Bake at 350 for 45 min.
