- CINNAMON APPLE STREUSEL BARS
INGREDIENTS:
1 1/4 c graham cracker crumbs
1 1/4 c flour
1/4 c sugar
1/2 c packed brown sugar
1 t cinnamon
3/4 c butter or margarine, melted
2 c chopped, peeled apples
1/4 c packed brown sugar
1/2 c confectioners' sugar
1 T milk
DIRECTIONS:
Combine the graham cracker crumbs, flour, sugar, 1/2 cup brown sugar and
cinnamon ina large bowl. Add the butter and mix
until crumbly. Reserve 1 cup of the crumb mixture. Press the remaining crumb
mixture over the bottom of a greased 9x13-inch baking pan. Bake at 350
degrees for 8 minutes. Toss the apples with 1/4 cup brown sugar until the
brown sugar dissolves and the apples are evenly coated. Spread over the baked
layer and sprinkle with the reserved crumb mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for
30 to 35 minutes or until the apples are tender and the top is golden brown.
Cool in the pan on a wire rack. Blend the confectioners' sugar with the milk
in a small bowl. Drizzle over the top and cut into bars. Makes 3 dozen.
