DROP BISCUITS

FOR STRAWBERRY SHORT CAKE


Ingredients  

Drop Biscuits

  • 1-1/2 cup flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 6 teaspoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 6 Tablespoons cold unsalted  butter, cut into pats
  • 1/3 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup milk

Strawberries

  • 4 cups sliced strawberries
  • 3 Tablespoons sugar

  • Preheat oven to 450ºF.
  • In a bowl combine flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Once those ingredients are combined, and cold butter pats and mix with a pastry blender until butter is in  small pea-sized pieces.
  • Add yogurt and milk and stir.
  • Use a large spoon drop scoops of the biscuit mixture onto a baking sheet. You should have 6 scoops.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown

Instructions For Strawberries

  • Mix strawberries and sugar and let sit for one hour string every 15 minutes
  • Serve biscuits with 1/2 cup strawberry mixture and whip cream

Note:You can make drop biscuits using sourdough discard
